Right, Because P,C+F meels cause a huge insulin
spike and unwanted fat storage.

You can get a 1kg bag of dextrose at the brewers section in the supermarket for around $4, can't beat that for price.
I mainly use multidextrin by GEN-TEC with a little dextrose added. I've found from experience that multidextrin works better than dextrose for me.
My post workout drink contains 60-100g of carbs depending on many factors. 45-60g of protein (not protein powder, protein itself). 10g of creatine and 10g of glutamine. followed by 1000mg of vitamin C. This works a charm for me.
Another reason why excess carbs can make you fat is this:- If you have so much carb energy in your system your body will use less fat as energy as glycogen is your body's prefered source of energy. You end up burning less fat than you are taking in. I love a high carb diet but if I go too high I start gaining a little extra fat. I never go extremely low carbs though even when dieting for a comp, only when I carb deplete the last week.
DIGGS
I tried MD, but sweet tasting drinks make me feel quite sick while training so I gave up on the idea.
Me too, prefer to drink water. Plus, at the end of the workour, the body is "primed" to receive the shot of high GI carbs.
I have posted on this topic before and its on the record that I like a higher carb intake than many advocate.
Horses for courses my friends............
Yep, all I drink is water during training.
And I too have recently upped my carb intake by quite a bit, and my gains are MUCH better than before.
I eat carbs at night and I eat em right before bed too I get
home from gym about 7:00pm after work so I can
if u are training ur ass off (at night in the gym) do you really think
that carbs will store as fat???
I dont. infact I'm pretty sure they'll go towards building and repairing the muscle tissure that Ive been tearing down
in the gym.
I shoot for about 400+g carbs per day along w/ 250g protein
aswell
ooh its almost 10:00 AM, time for my
425g can of tuna, and 2 cups of Oats........

OMG Mike!!! Tuna and oats???
Diggs mentioned something that made sense. During a pre contest phase if one uses a low carb approach throughout, the carb depletion carb load process is useless. Going extremely low carb is ok for some BUT the they need to understand that the carb depletion process will not work. These people need to carb load at least 1 week out from their show and slowly bring their carbs uo, otherwise the standard 3 days off carb loading will not work.
originally quoted by monstadwarf:
seperate the carbs from the fats. eat protien alone, protien & fats, Protien and Low GI load carb, and have high gi load carbs directly affter a workout to prime the body for your protien ingestion.
spot on there monsta, thats how i have been eating for almost a year now, best way to get lean i believe
JERRY, I eat Protein and Complex carbs with good fats.
is this a bad idea? or am I in a different boat that a non training person?

Fats are fats!! If you over eat good fats you'll get as fat as will will from over eating the bad fats, your arteries will be healthy though I guess!
People in Europe that use lots of olive oil have very small amounts of heart disease in their cultural groups but alot of them are 'BIG' people!!
