Hey guys.... first post here, and in need of some advice. I'm 21, 5'10" 168lbs, and 7-8%bf. Ive been training regularly for 2 1/2 years now and have made considerable gains. Over the last few months though things have started to "creep" along, and my bench just won't go any higher than 210. Am I reaching my "genetical" peak??(if there even is such a thing..) So now my thoughts have turned towards the juice.. My Ideal size is 195lbs. The only problem is that I am very afraid of needles.. don't know why, just always been like that....(insert pussy jokes here, hehe) Ive been looking into Anabol (pink ones??) But am not sure what kind of cycle would work best for me...
If you choose to juice, injectables are clearly the way to go.
That being said, you are NOT at your genetic potential, and don't need gear yet. You need to eat more, and not be afraid of gaining some fat. When you find yourself at too high a BF%, diet down. What's the heaviest you have ever been?
To improve your bench, switch to dumbells for a few weeks. Also weighted dips for your triceps works wonders.
if your trying to get bigger, don't concentrate on strength. Vary your routines with every exercise imaginable and your gains will never hault. tryin resting less between sets, or more depending on your training. try starting your routines with single joint exercises, and moveing on to compound movements at the end. I switch my routines up every week. no training session is ever the same.
another thing, if your afraid of needles, forget about it.
if your bench press is 210 then you are not at your genetic limit.
Don't worry about 1rm unless you are a powerlifter. If you are a bber focus on getting good solid mass.
I would recommend a hardcore bulking diet for a few months. If you want to stay lean for the summer, then wait till fall. you should be able to get to your ideal weight naturally.
Thanks guys... when I started training, I was only about 140lbs, so this is the heaviest I've been and hope to continue putting on solid muscle weight.
70 lbs in 2 years.. good job sounds like you already know what to do.. maybe a week or 2 off then comeback with a new routine..
Hey ironman, I wish I had gained 70 lbs.... its only been 25 lbs in 2 1/2 years.... I dont know if thats good or not. It seems like I did a pretty good job though, but I guess when you start to see major improvement, you start to want to see MORE improvement MUCH faster... Oh well thanks for the advice
oops.. that was your bench up to 210.. that's not bad at all.. still sounds like you're on the right path..
